"On a Web site initially devoted to supporting one of the three teenagers who so far have been arrested on burglary and criminal-mischief charges, the stated mission had changed. No longer was “Keep the Trevolution Alive” focused on the way in which “The Man” was keeping a student named Trevor down. "
The mission statement continued: “They're top priority...wat happened to trev and all our friends isnt reversible...but wat happened to the balantics house is. Lets get the ball rollin everybody and raise some money.”
There is a webpage out there supporting what these "children" have done. My question is what right do these "children" have, or what gave them an idea that it was o.k., to break into houses and throw a party on someone elses dime and place? What has society, tv or their parents taught them?
When I watch MTV (not that often), an the shows basically show that kids feel entitled to everything. Watch "My sweet 16" sometime an see how these kids treat their parents regarding what they "deserve" for their $100,000 party, a $100,000 car too, and of course a celebrity to come to their party. I do love it when the celebrity puts them in their place, like when Cara showed up 2 hours late for the boys "Grand Entrance" or the rapper who told the spoiled brat that he is $100,000 just for an hour.
My question is yes parents teach their children values and such, but what role does society play in showing them what is right or wrong?
The second is about my new home town of Winston-Salem, NC, there was a council meeting last night about a new development and the homeowners who do not want it to happen and are upset an a bit scared about what this means for them. The Council memembers reassured them that their land and homes are not endanger. I would like to believe that and have faith in the system but being from Southeastern CT and watching Kelo vs. City of New London due to "Eminent Domain", she lost her house along with the other people in the lawsuit and it went right up to the Federal Supreme Court. Just an added note that was about 18 months ago finally settled and nothing has been developed or started developing on that land. It is now just empty houses on that land, was it worth it? Taking people's homes? Some of those people have lived in their homes for their whole lives. So to the Winston -Salem residents upset about their livelhood and not really trusting the politicans be very careful, anything can happen.
As citizens how do you feel about Eminent Domain, that you can work and work, buy your dream house, raise your family and decide I want to live out my days in this house, and "WHAM" the government says for the good of the economy we need to take your house and you can not do anything about it.

My pick Vanessa Marcil on looks alone, I am not quite sure if she can do a southern accent, but she definately can play the different aspects of the character, do you remember her on General Hospital? According to the papers this version will stick closer to the book then the 1939 movie, after watching it again last night, how can you improve on the original? I have read the book and I admit it was better than the movie, but I am a sucker for Rhett and Scarlett in flesh and blood sparing partners. Vivian Leigh was amazing, if you want to see another one of her incredible performances, watch " Streetcar named Desire", as Blanche Dubois.. Also, you get to see Marlon Brando in all his sexiness.

Sometimes, southern ways are a bit more persuasive then to go right for the jugular. It has only been 18 months what has gotten into me?
Well, on Monday we will be starting our 7th week of working out, just to let you know has not become easier to get up in the morning and my mood has not improved but I feel better, so I guess it is achieving one thing anyway.

So, Brittany Spears is back in rehab, and seems to be staying put for a little, she atleast made it a day and 1/2 this time, my question is she was so proud to be pregnant where are her children while she is out partying? It is like those tv sitcoms of the 80's which would build in a pregnancy an then never mention the child after they were born, excuse me in real life they are your life not your after thought. I read, they are comparing Brittany to Anna Nicole Smith, what a lovely person to be compared to and in the same sentence "headed down the same path', as if Brittany can't change or get better my gosh she is only 25 if a day.
My husband and my favorite TV night together is Monday night sitcoms... I think Two and half men, Rules of Engagement and How I met your mother are so funny, we sit on the couch together and laugh instead of him judging my stupid television shows. If you have not seen "Two and half men", please watch it Charlie Sheehan and Jon Cryer are so funny together and such opposites, my only question is where has there mother been I love her attitude toward them.
What do you an your significant watch together an enjoy?

I had to choose who would be my boyfriend, and I picked Jimmy B. because someone else explained to me, that due to Jimmy M. and I were on the same team he would forgive me and we could be friends. I never felt so awful about hurting someone like that, choosing one person over another is awful, it has happened to me later in life and of course, I was the one dumped on. Jimmy B. and I did not last too long but it was intense, our song was Sailing by Christopher Cross (before MTV), an I can remember a memorable make out session at Kenny's house in Norwich, CT. I do also recall making out with Jimmy M. at this guy Mikes party.
Jimmy B. and I broke up because I went to another house party, which since I was babysitting my brother was not suppose to be there and dragged my brother along ( I was of course grounded afterwards), an Jimmy B. was making out with another girl. END of US.
Two years ago, I heard from both Jimmy's, they found me on Reunion.com, and they are still good friends an live in the Boston Area, successful marriages and careers. We were going to get together in Boston later that summer but they never got back to me as it got closer. My fiance then (husband now) thought their wives wouldn't of wanted to meet me. Why? It was over 20 years ago. I admit (1) of my main reasons was to see what they looked like, to me they will always be those 2 boys who tugged at my heart and still to this day make me smile when I think of that innocent time in our lives.
Songs can make you feel and think of past times, future and of course when you are going through a breakup every song on the radio seems to be a lost love song to bring you in more into the depression. Just a point my husband is 5 years younger than myself, so I do thank both Jimmy's for making me look at younger men in a whole new light.

The other thing that stuck out was it has been 4 years since the Station Fire and my heart still can see the news and the devastation of the 100 people who lost their lives, I did not know anyone personally but that does not mean I feel any less for these people's loss. I did not realize that the court cases are over and the most anyone got was 4 years, we all know it was not intentional and the stage manager will have to live with this accident for the rest of his life, but what about the Fire Marshall's who never sited the bar for the insulation? What is right? I have no idea but it is definately something to think about. Another reason not to own a bar... I wanted to in my early 20' s an so glad I didn't it is such a responsiblity, if I thought my job was stressful that would be even worse. I remember when I bartended, my biggest fear was someon I served out on the road an might hurt someone or themselves. I took it seriously, and was known as a tough a** because I would not overserve. No one, will thank you for that, but it gave me piece of mind. So, next time you are in a bar an the bartender cuts you off or someone you know, do not yell an call them names Thank them, they are only looking out for your safety.
Enough of my soap box today, IS SPRING HERE YET? I am so ready for Spring which is so funny due to not much of a winter down here in North Carolina. I am still dieting, it is now 6 weeks, and I will be seeing my sister in about 3 weeks all size 4 of her, so I would love to lose another 10 lbs before I see her, vain yes but in my mind it all makes sense.

Last night, my husband made me "Sloppy Joe's" for dinner, remember those when you were a kid? Definately, when I was a child one of my favorite meals, you were allowed to be messy especially due to the whole name thing, when I eat now I am a slob, none of my clothes are spotless, today had cottage cheese for a snack and now my shirt has a big white glob. Actually, everything I do makes me a mess, I have white out on two of my black shirts from work injuries. I should be nicknamed "Pigpen" from Peanuts.
Due to this fact, I love anything with the name Sloppy in it and it actually is expected you will make a mess.
Have a wonderful weekend, hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day.

Jars of Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter with product code on the lid that begins with the number “2111” should be discarded or returned to the place you purchased it for a refund.
My favorite thing to eat is Peanut Butter, but I am a Skippy Girl what about you? Just thought I would warn everyone.
I have become obessed with losing weight and for the last two nights I have been working out in the morning and when I get home from work too. I have no idea what has gotten into me, but it is something I want so bad and for some reason am willing to work for it, outside of my career that is just not like me.
At "42" years old now I have decided I need to be a babe for my husband how bizarre, really it is because my sisters are both size 5, and have been working out for years, I HATE BEING THE FAT SISTER.... Once you reach size "16" you know next size is out of regular stores, help me is what my pants were telling me, so now I am obsessed.
Last night, I watched the season finale for "Beauty and the Geek" season 3, loved the twist, Cece got exactly what she deserved, she lost out the most, she never opened herself up for the experience of a lifetime. She was only there for the money, yes it is nice to win $$ but she could of changed her perspective on life but she choose to do all the wrong things. She seriously, thinks she is better than everyone else, I was glad when they brought back the other players who were ousted throughout the season to vote it was just rewards. Especially after Nate went around telling everyone not to vote for his team to teach Cece a lesson. He is way to sweet, she will never realize what she missed out on, it would of been more fun if she had actually learned from the experience instead of treating everyone as if they were enemies. The guys all pulled together and understood when they were put in the elimination round no hard feelings. They actually worked to make sure all the guys got something incredible out of this experiement.
The only thing better would be if Ashton came on an told Cece off for being such a b***h an kicked her off for basically not getting the point, she really is dumb...
Well, I was on another site reading and researching Key West, there is a Hilton, Hyatt down there an I am hoping within 2 years to make the move. It is so hard looking now and knowing it is a few years away, but you never know what life will throw at me before that 2 years it up. Until then, I will dream of my sunny home, with the boats, water and especially the people.

We are celebrating on Saturday, with either a matinee movie or a nice dinner at home an then out for drinks depending on if he is working or not. My job is boring me, but I keep thinking once he is settled into a new job then I can look for a new position for me. Sad thing is what do I want to be when I grow up? I know I am "42" but I still feel as if I am in my 20's an will find my way, when does it become this is my lot in life? I still can not settle into a job unless I love it. I did love being a wedding planner but after 15 years, it gets old and brides get younger and more b***hy, as if you have no idea what you are doing. Then they read the wedding magazines that do not have any new ideas just old ones revitizled for this season.
I loved our wedding and it was different for our friends due to it was a themed wedding, but every bride is different, but put your own spin on it or it is just like the bride the week before or even the day before. For me OUT FOR BRIDES: Tiffany theme, Doves or Butterfly's let go, besides most of time the butterflies have died already not a good sign. Guest books out be creative, the keys for the best man toast. Martha Stewart OUT, Preston Bailey IN.
Just a little bit of information do with it what you must.

Why do we lose friendships? Is it inconvient? Timing? Etc.? There are other people I have reached out to, who have not responded but that does not mean I will stop trying. My husband an I are on our 5th week of working out, I didn't yesterday due to being sick, but pushed myself today, I am determined for the first time in a long time to lose the weight before summer. He has lost 23lbs, and I have lost 9lbs and inches off my waist, thighs and hips YEAH! I am still very excited, mostly to go shopping an buying new clothes for Spring/Summer.
Anyone have big changes in their lives?

Reality TV: Last night, watched Beauty and the Geek, and the girl I can not stand Cecile as now in the final 2 teams. I love her team mate Nate, but can not stand her, if she wins she will state that see, beauty always wins and why should I be smart? She got absolutely nothing out of the experiment and I am so upset, I will watch next week and hope that Megan and Scooter can kick butt to pull out the win. What does everyone else think of Cecile? When Jenny Lee and Niels lost last night, she made some stupid inapproiate comment and I felt for Nate and Jenny Lee. It will be interesting to see what happens with those two when the show is over. I love this show, good for Ashton Kutcher, I hope the twist for this season is the other cast memebers get to come back and vote who wins, which would bring (HOPEFULLY) down a peg or two.
What is up with ILOVE NY? One of the worst shows on tv, I can not watch her without getting ill, how desperate are the rating guru's to put someone so horrible on tv as if she is something special?
My gilmore girls was so good the other night, except all that Luke did and Loreli let Christopher talk so mean to Luke, why did she not speak up? I hope Luke does not take her back without making her fight for him.. Where was Paris this week? Emily was in top form YEAH!! She should be a bit nicer to Luke but that would be stretching it wouldn't it, love the track suit on Emily.

We are starting week 4 of the diet, people have commented on how great my husband looks, since I had more fat to begin with it is not as noticeable yet, I have lost now 9lbs and 2 inches, YEAH! I am still not trying to look to far ahead but would love to have non-flabby arms and a flat stomach for summer.

According to my mother in law they have been on "Nutri System", since my husband's dad retired back in September. We are on Turbo Jam, which I know I have mentioned so it will be nice to see what progress all of us has made. His parents are such wonderful, down to earth people, who love to travel, they went to Hawaii in October, and after us going to Raleigh and on to Florida. I hope when we are able to retire we will travel too. We so enjoy exploring new places, we are hoping to make a big trip either at the end of this year or beginning of 2008 to England.
For me it will be 20 years since I have seen it and for him 10 years, an we both know so much has changed. It is a good day, just the two of us working around the house and me trying not to veg in front of the Television, I am thinking a walk in the afternoon will do us good, because looking at 4 walls for two days is on my last nerve. Last night, we went to the Grocery store so I could get out of the house excited aren't you? Our life right now is limit our spending to get compeletly out of debt... It is a noble effort, an if we had more friends we would invite them over, just to break up the boredom. We want to buy a house in 2 years so this is very necessary, especially since we are not quite sure where we want to buy, still on the search for our Starrs Hollow, to me the midwest is our best bet, but he is very wary of that. If by some chance we won alot of money it would be Key West, Fl all the way, in order to live there you need money. Of all the places I have visited in my lifetime, the two before Key West I want to live no way could I ever afford, San Francisco, CA or London, England.. Maybe a little condo or apartment in each to visit. I love to dream, what are your dreams?

Here are the Orgins:
Groundhog Day, February 2nd, is a popular tradition in the United States. It is also a legend that traverses centuries, its origins clouded in the mists of time with ethnic cultures and animals awakening on specific dates. Myths such as this tie our present to the distant past when nature did, indeed, influence our lives. It is the day that the Groundhog comes out of his hole after a long winter sleep to look for his shadow.
If he sees it, he regards it as an omen of six more weeks of bad weather and returns to his hole.
If the day is cloudy and, hence, shadowless, he takes it as a sign of spring and stays above ground.
Funny thing is, we really did not seem to have a winter this year did we? It did snow here in Carolina the other day but nothing else. I hear this is unusally, we had a few 70' degrees days in January. What has happened? I hate to say this but here goes: "When I was younger?"
Storytime, ( I know how much you love these):My story begins when I was 11 years old in 6th grade. My homeroom teacher was Mrs. Russ, my sisters had both had her as their teacher and she was Miss Hyde then, I don't think anyone thought she would get married, she did the year before I had her as a teacher. To me she was a tall woman, her room was the last one in the building and had a little cubby with books and if you have been bad you must sit there by yourself. Due to my "talking" I was there on more than one occassion.
Snow days is what we lived for, because we could stay in our pj's longer, mom got to stay home too, how cool. We lived on a hill, with many houses and many kids so much fun... Melissa my best friend and I would have snowball fights with the neighbor boys, Jack and Thom Brayman. There was a yard in between which was a Realty office run by "Ruth Scott", so we would use her yard and house there to fight the boys. If that got old or we got too hurt we would sled, there was a little hill at the Park down the street, or if really snow use the road because no one was on it. Then go in the house after hours, drink hot chocolate and watch whatever was on tv, mom would sometimes make popcorn (jiffy) over our fireplace, it was so much fun. We were lucky my mom's parents lived next door, so if mom had to work Grandma was there, she retired from teaching art a few years earlier.
Do kids still have snow days or do they play video games and time on the computer? Where was the fun with friends and neighboorhoods?"
When my husband and I decide to move, we really want our Starrs Hollow which makes me remember my neighborhood growing up, there was always people to play with, and being little girls jealously and drama... Everything touched us up on that Hill. Not to be confused with the Hills on MTV. This was a middle class neighborhood. Do you have any great stories from your past?

I am sorry, if I offended anyone, I am not blaming Cameron, I was venting and hurt by Wayne's death. It really does not matter or should it matter who is to blame, it was a tragedy that 3 people lost their lives in such a awful way. Myself an the other people who wrote into the day editorial department were also upset by how the Day handled the who thing. My heart goes out to all the families involved.
I can see why Cameron's friends felt when the article came out that they in good conscience participated in, and to have your words turned around or taken out of context. It will take awhile for everyone involved to get past this tragedy.

Went to a Baby Shower last night for a girl in my office who is becoming my friend. I will call her "Jersey" since she is from Trenton, NJ. She married a sweet guy from a rural town here in North Carolina and he will never leave so she is living down here with him. She is quite the splash in her town, she has a Louis Vitton purse and of course, Kate Spade diaper bag. The church they go to, have asked her after a few weeks if she is visiting? No, she lives here.
I am so excited about her baby, I am projecting due to my family is so far away and I miss my sisters so very much. Jersey and I are not that close but becoming closer due to the fact both from the north, we are in the process of bonding. It will be interesting if I am still here to hear what accent the child will have.
