Lately, I have been thinking of the past, and how many twists and turns life takes. This past weekend, a friend of mine I have not seen since 2005, came up to visit in NH. We had so much fun with her  & her new boyfriend. We laughed so much and just enjoyed hanging out again.

Christine and I lived together in 1997 for about  year, her twins were about 3 years old, they are now 18 and it is so strange to believe they are all grown up. We had been friends since 1990, and when my relationship exploded, she was there for me, and it was amazing, we had an apartment in a awful neighborhood in Norwich, but the apartment itself was nice and big.  We went our separate ways since my wedding, she had gotten married and divorced since I saw her last.  When we saw each other it was like we were back in the 90's laughing about stupid crap and just enjoying our friendship.

So, then I went back and found some old pictures from the 1990's when I first started working at the "Flood Tide", and the pictures are so funny. To see people that were so important in our lives, who have faded away.  Some are no longer with us, others have moved out of CT, myself to NH, others to Texas, California it is just interesting to see who we have become, but I remember that time so fondly.

I posted some of the pictures on face book, and it is so funny to hear from people, and just look back.  My 30th class reunion is this summer, I can not go, but looking at my high school years, my years as a server in restaurants, it is amazing and somewhat sad on people that move in an out of your life. How people change, how you yourself have changed.  I am just being a bit nostalgic, when my life becomes so stressful and overwhelming I sometimes wish I was still back in the restaurant business and maybe still a server, even though I know in truth my body could not be on my feet all day long.

I do remember struggling to pay bills, but I also remember all of us in the same boat and it seemed there was always someone there to snap me out of my funk, or to get together, maybe have a blow out party, if you have seen "Waiting" the party after hours was very accurate especially on a busy Saturday night..
