Well, my husband received a call today from a place in West Virginia for a Wedding Specialist postion. When we had decided to move out of CT the first place we were looking was West Virginia, but when we drove there, not impressed. The place we stayed was outdated around 1973, and there did not seem to be alot around.
Now, the place looking to hire is the same place we stayed 2 1/2 years ago but has gone through a $1 million dollar renovation an I belive new owners. Also, there is alot to do there, and the water is right there, the mountains, it is beautiful. We did find a great dockside restaurant we enjoyed very much when we were there and a Spa. So of course, I am thinking we were either too hasty in our decision an bad exploring or we were correct and this could be a huge mistake. I do figure though if they are willing to relocate us, and it is near water which I have come to realize in the 2 years here in North Carolina I need water, what do we really have to lose? The husband seems flattered, which he should. I had applied to this company myself had an interview in Charlotte an was not hired. Then I applied for him in Greensboro and they called him for West Virginia instead.
We have gotten used to moving around in the last few years, I still would like to settle down and be in Key West, but sometimes life takes us on different routes. Part of me always thinks I will get back to Connecticut but the more I read about its prices going up, taxes going up and people moving out of Connecticut I think we made a good decision even though it does not feel that way when I miss my family an friends like crazy. I am going home for 48 hours at the end of the month an I am so very happy about it, even though it is such a short time. I keep working out everyday and working to be tanned so I at least look good or at least halfway decent at my class reunion.
